Have a picnic with you child and have a ball.

Kids love to go on picnics - no confining restaurants chairs and booths, no waiting for a meal, no worry of spills, and for you, there are no big food bills. Standing up and eating outside offers a child a feeling of freedom. Children are so often constrained at mealtime. Eating outside is fun and cheap entertainment. It can be healthier than restaurant meals if you pack a lunch with fruits and veggies and leave the chips and soda on the store shelves.

Picnics can be simple or complicated. Planning one around a trip to a state, city, or national park makes it an outing that combines physical activity, education, and meaningful time spent together. Take a ball and play catch, basketball, or whatever meets their fancy, and work up an appetite. Turn off the cell phone and enjoy your children's company. They'll remember and cherish these special times.

If you develop sore muscles from activities outside try using a Maine Warmers  microwave heating pad. It can also be frozen and used as an ice pack. Parents and children use Back Warmers and Neck Warmers to help relax cramped or stiff muscles. Check out some Comforting Creatures to tuck into bed with your child at night.
